@arkadydarell I will do what I can to make sure that society remains free for you to have civil unions and co-habitate however you wish. Nevertheless, I will defend marriage in its traditional form until I am no longer able to do so. I will not stand by and do nothing as society continues to de-evolve. That is my pledge to you.

@arkadydarell Sounds like there may have been some trauma in your life. I would suggest dealing with any potential trauma before entering ANY type of union. Secondly, I submit to you that we explore this argument from a scientific point of view. If none of us were to get married and have children, society would (without the benifit of medical science) end. That tells me that being gay is an end and void. Gay people may have civil unions and co-habitate. I will make sure that remains legal.

@twoqute2bstr8 So first you imply I hate you, and when I rebuff that you imply I want to run you down in my car. Who is the "hater" again? I oppose gay marriage because it is wrong and sick. If it were okay and everyone did it, society would end without the benifit of medical science. If that does not tell us that it is wrong, I don't know what does. Now hear this, your sin and sin is equal. I am no better than you. But if we do not call sin sin we will parrish as a society and as individuals.

i think i'm in love. can marriage be between one man and one slightly older, non-slutty woman? i don't know if that's biblically sound. maybe i can adopt you as my daughter first. i hear some guy is trying to do something like that.

@Visitor586 we are all trying to get out of yours.

@dlanceblack If you oppose gay marriage, then great...oppose it for yourself, in that you would not enter a gay marriage. Impose your position onto someone else when it is absolutely none of your business, and make it seem like it affects you in ANY shape or fashion however, that my dear, is hateful. To compare an orientation that does fit into your perception of hetero-normativity with running into traffic, tells me that YOU are behind the wheel, and everyone better watch out.

Beautifully done! I always wonder if Christians who think marriage has always been "one man and one woman" have ever actually read their Bibles.

As an asexual I find all sex weird, should I tell you that you shouldn't be able to get legal and societal recognition for a union, even a hetero-religious marriage? From my perspective sex is all just stimulating mucous membranes for pleasure, the gender of the participants and method of stimulation is rather irrelevant. Would you regard me entering a sex-free (thus religiously void) marriage to be wrong? Would it only be wrong if my life-partner were also female?
